About
At Blanktobuilt, we don't believe in flat-pack solutions or one-size-fits-all furniture. Based in Dewsbury, we cover the surrounding area, we design, build, and install bespoke joinery completely on-site, so every piece fits your home's exact dimensions rather than the other way around.
From heavy-duty custom kids' pod beds and space-saving banquette seating to sleek, modern media walls, we handle the whole journey — from first idea to final coat of paint.
Before any building starts, we create a precise 3D digital mockup of your space and planned project, so you can see and adjust exactly what you're getting before a final quote is sent.

Q&A
How long does a typical project take?
Every project is different, but most smaller custom joinery projects can be completed within a few days. Larger or more involved bespoke installations can take over a week, depending on the physical size and scope of the work involved.
Do you supply all materials, or can I provide my own?
We supply all structural-grade materials as standard, and prefer to do so, as it allows us to guarantee the quality, suitability, and fit of everything that goes into your project. If you’d like to supply your own materials, we’re happy to work with them. However, please note that any materials supplied by the client are not covered under our workmanship guarantee. We also cannot accept responsibility for any materials that are incorrect, faulty, or unsuitable for the project.
What areas in West Yorkshire do you cover?
Based in Dewsbury, we typically cover a 7-mile radius for our bespoke carpentry and joinery services. This means we regularly design and install projects for clients across Batley, Ossett, Mirfield, Morley, Cleckheaton, and Wakefield. We’re also happy to travel further afield for the right project, so if you’re outside our usual area, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
How does the 3D design and render process work?
We start with a few details about what you’re looking to have done, along with some photos of the space and any inspiration or reference images you’ve found. These can come from anywhere, whether that’s another project, a showroom, social media, or even an AI-generated concept. If you’ve seen something you like, send it over and we can work from there.
For more straightforward projects, we may be able to give you a rough idea of cost at this stage. If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll arrange a visit to chat, take precise measurements, and get a proper feel for the room.
We then recreate your room inside Fusion 360, either by adapting an existing structural model where possible or building it completely from scratch. While we’re developing the layout, you can send over any further ideas, colours, finishes, or details you’d like us to consider.
Once we’ve got the initial design together, we’ll send you a high-resolution 3D digital render to look through. You can then let us know about any adjustments you’d like, and we’ll refine the design with you before finalising the design and providing a detailed quote.
How much does a bespoke joinery piece typically cost?
Every piece is custom-made, so pricing depends entirely on factors such as the size, material choices, and complexity of the layout. Moving away from standard flat-packs means you get a heavy-duty, exact-fit installation designed around your budget.
For more straightforward projects, we may be able to give you a rough idea of cost from the initial details. For more intricate custom work, we’ll need to understand the physical space and your specific features (like integrated smart LED lighting or recessed TV framing) before we can give you a more accurate figure.
Once the design has been developed in Fusion 360 and you’ve approved the final render, we’ll provide a detailed quote based on the agreed design, so you know exactly what the project will cost before any building begins.
What's the deposit and quote process?
Once we’ve measured up, developed the design, and finalised the render, we’ll provide a detailed quote based on the agreed design.
If you’re happy to go ahead, we require a 50% deposit upfront to secure your slot and order materials, with the remaining balance due on completion. For larger projects, we may agree on a schedule of stage payments instead.
Do you offer a guarantee on your work?
Yes, we offer a 12-month guarantee covering defects or failures arising directly from our craftsmanship and workmanship.
The guarantee does not extend to materials supplied by the client, as mentioned above, and does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or general wear and tear following installation.
Can you work around an existing colour scheme or interior?
Absolutely. If we’re finishing the piece as well as building it, you have full control over the colours and finishes. We’re also happy to suggest options that complement your existing décor and help the new piece sit naturally within the space.
We’ve completed projects designed around clients’ existing furniture, colour schemes, and overall style, so there’s no need to restyle your entire room from scratch.
What if I want changes after seeing the design render?
Changing the design is straightforward. The 3D render is there to give you a clear idea of how the finished piece will look in your home, and we’re happy to make adjustments before the design is finalised and the deposit is paid.
You can also send over additional ideas, colours, finishes, or references while we’re developing the design. We’ll work with you to refine everything into a final design you’re happy with.
If significant or repeated changes take the project beyond the original scope of the design work, we’ll let you know beforehand if any additional design fees would apply.
